چکیده

In this work, an Fe3O4 catalyst was synthetized in a single step via electrochemical synthesis. The used to evaluate the degradation of Ofloxacin (OFX) using heterogeneous advanced oxidation process with sodium persulfate (PS). PS activation successfully achieved thermal conventional heating directly and subsequently applied for OFX. kinetics were studied under different conditions, such as oxidant concentration temperature. results show that higher reaction temperature, initial dose strongly influence efficiency. Thermal tested at 20, 40 60 °C. At °C, half-time OFX 23 times greater than 20 confirming persulfate. Mineralization studies also showed optimized conditions (20 mM persulfate, 1 g/L 100 mg/L OFX), 66% reduction organic matter observed, contrast obtained °C which null. reusability, through fourth reuse cycle, resulted 38% reduced efficiency when comparing first last cycle. Furthermore, electrosynthesized presented similar efficiencies both real water MilliQ, mainly because Cl2? generation high Cl? concentrations takes place contaminated water.

Ultra-sustainable Fe78Si9B13 metallic glass as a catalyst for activation of persulfate on methylene blue degradation under UV-Vis light

Stability and reusability are important characteristics of advanced catalysts for wastewater treatment. In this work, for the first time, sulfate radicals (SO4∙-) with a high oxidative potential (Eo = 2.5-3.1 V) were successfully activated from persulfate by a Fe78Si9B13 metallic glass. This alloy exhibited a superior surface stability and reusability while activating persulfate as indicated by...

Oxidative Degradation of 2-chlorophenol by Persulfate

The degradation of 2-chlorophenol (2-CP) by persulfate was investigated. The kinetics of persulfate oxidation of 2-chlorophenol in aqueous solutions at various pH, oxidant concentration, temperature, Fe2+ and Cu2+ ions content was studied. Maximum of 2-CP degradation occurred at pH 8. The oxidation rate of 2-CP increased with increasing the persulfate molar excess. The degradation process was s...

Efficient Fenton like degradation of Methylene blue in aqueous solution by using Fe3O4 nanoparticles as catalyst

Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared hydrothermally and characterized by X-Ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was found that these nanoparticles can act as an efficient catalyst in the degradation of Methylene blue dye in aqueous solution in a Fenton like system in presence of 30% perhydrol. Uv-Vis spectroscopy was used to determine the concentration of ...

Solvent-free selective hydrogenation of chloronitrobenzene to chloroaniline over a robust Pt/Fe3O4 catalyst.

In the absence of solvent, highly selective hydrogenation of o-chloronitrobenzene and m-chloronitrobenzene, with selectivity to the corresponding chloroanilines of ≥99.4% and complete conversion of the substrates, was realized over a robust Pt/Fe(3)O(4) catalyst which was prepared by adsorbing Pt nanoclusters on a Fe(3)O(4) support.

Persulfate Activation by Major Soil Minerals

by MUSHTAQUE AHMAD, M.S. Washington State University December 2008 Chair: Richard J. Watts Oxidant interaction with subsurface materials is a major factor influencing the effective application of in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) for contaminant destruction. The newest and least explored ISCO oxidant source is persulfate. Persulfate interaction with subsurface minerals was investigated as a bas...
